Why do the colors on all of my pictures change when I change one palette?

From OHRRPGCE-Wiki

Starting with the ubersetzung release, all new versions of the OHRRPGCE store a default palette for each set of pictures, so this problem is no longer relevant.

Do still be aware that if two pictures use the same palette, changing the palette will affect both pictures.

Suppose you draw a new hero with a new palette, or import a new enemy graphic with a new palette?

Why do all your other graphics change color?

This happens because the graphics editors for heroes, enemies, walkabouts, attacks, and weapons only ever use one 16-color palette at a time. Understand that the editor only uses one palette at a time, you can have as many palettes as you want, and each picture can have their own palette, it is only the editor that uses one palette at a time.

  • For heroes, the palette that matters is the palette you have chosen in the hero editor. The palette you were using last time you looked at the graphics in the hero graphics editor is irrelevant.
  • For enemies, the palette that matters is the palette you have chosen in the enemy editor. The palette you were using last time you looked at the graphics in the enemy graphics editor is irrelevant.
  • For attacks, the palette that matters is the palette you have chosen in the attack editor. The palette you were using last time you looked at the graphics in the attack graphics editor is irrelevant.
