Halloween Contests
2021[edit]
The 2021 Halloween contest was hosted by Hollyhart1 between September 11 and October 23. The theme was "Haunted Halloween", and all the entries involve a place being haunted.
There were 4 entries:
- Ad Mortem by MorpheusKitami and TheLordThyGod
- Block Bonanza by RMZ
- Killer of Dead by pjbebi
- Shroud House by Ravancloak and Tophat (winner)
2019[edit]
Kylekrack hosted the 2019 contest, from September 28th to October 31st. Games could be entered in either the Festive or Horror category. There were four entries.
2016[edit]
Gizmog hosted the 2016 contest, announced September 29 (entries started beforehand welcome) and running until October 28. Fenrir immediately had screenshots to show off.
Less Than A Week Terrible Halloween Contest (2015)[edit]
With a surprise annoucement by Spoonweaver on October 27 running until Halloween, this year had a surprisingly good turnout. There were no prizes or voting, instead Spoonweaver ranked the top three.

2014[edit]
The 2014 Halloween contest, from October 1st to November 2nd, had enough interest, with numerous screenshots posted, but in the end only one game was released before the deadline. The others have vanished mysteriously.

2013[edit]
Hosted by BMR from October 14 to October 27. This was "more as a 13 day release window" than 13 days to create a game.
2011[edit]
An event with loose rules and no prizes called "Four Days of Halloween" was announced without warning by Pepsi Ranger from October 27th until Nov 1st. Despite several signups, it seems only one game was released (co-entered in the Say It Ain't So Contest).

2008[edit]
Hosted by Gizmog, this was run solely on CastleParadox rather than SlimeSalad. (SS was down at the time?) Ran from Oct 1 - 31. Apparently no winner was declared?
Entries:
- Night of 10,000 Bullets by TwinHamster @ CP, @ SS
- Scare Spree by RMZ and Moogle1 (Update to original released for Halloween contest 2006)
- A preview of Halloween Quest 3 was also available for download for a limited time. RMZ stated it was an entry, but Gizmog doesn't seem to have counted it.
2007[edit]
Ran from October 18 - October 31, hosted by RMZ. There was no theme, but three items (sneak attack, parasites, bloody room) which were worth bonus points. Games were ranked by voters on creativity, scariness, and fun to determine a total score.
Trivia: RMZ accidentally announced it as "Halloween Contest 2008", later explaining "Holy crap! I didn't notice that at all. I work in a calendar company and we're building the 2008 stuff. I musta forgotten what year it is, haha. "

Other Years[edit]
The Halloween contest also took place in, at least, 2002 and 2000, but nothing is recorded about it, except that Halloween 2000 had poor turnout.
