Kizul Emeraldfire: When I saw the question, I thought he meant a battle where you don't do anything, it sorta fights itself — like in SpyJim, with the scientist guy and the grayscale battle-thing.

Mike C. Maybe they meant "Random battle"... but... I dunno. This ninjitsu guy seems to think that it's a pseudo-manual battle, what with npcs and all... hardly automatic or random.
