Template talk:WIP
TMC: Nice. I knew I would forget to update the wiki when Rusalka came out, so I did so immediately.
Mike: I just don't want anyone to complain that they can't find X feature ("I can't add more than 100 maps! You're a bunch of no good *bleep* *bleep* liars!")
Bob the Hamster: Template:Wip looks so nice, but Template:WIP can be nicely inlined without screwing up the surrounding formatting. I am unsure which to keep and which to replace.
Mike C. They're not mutually exclusive. Keep both, as we use both. Template:WIP is good for marking individual things as new, while Template:Wip is good for blanket-newing an entire section or article.
Inferior Minion What about installing ParserFunctions and using an #ifeq expression to determine if the inline or header version is needed. {{WIP|inline}} would then be used to display inline WIP instead of the header WIP. I attempted this with my Test template, but found you need those ParserFunctions installed
Mike C. Yeah, been there, suggested that. I think James said he couldn't get them installed or something. Maybe he was just lazy. Dunno.
Anyway, I'm sure that you could make it work with a convoluted series of default parameters, and including templates like {{wip|||||}} or some such retardedness. But, otherwise, we'll stick with with what we have.
Bob the Hamster: I tried installing ParserFunctions back when we were running manually-installed Mediawiki 1.6. Now that we are using 1.7 autoinstalled from subversion, adding ParserFunctions was no great difficulty.
