You might like to register on the Slime Salad forums too, or pop in to IRC or Discord (see Forums), because you won't get much sense of community here on the wiki, because there's not much discussion.
It's cool that you're interested in helping out! There are a few suggestions for things to do on Improving the Wiki, but there's lots more too. Updating screenshots or adding new ones would be a good example of a way to make a major difference without rewriting anything.
You might have noticed that the biggest thing that needs to be done around here is updating the HOWTO. But noone seems to agree on how to do that and it's a huge project... just fixing the most out-of-date stuff in the current "Old" HOWTO, a little bit at a time, seems like the best option right now.
You can also edit the F1 help pages in the engine itself, if you see anything that needs improving!
