What's worse than a high school packed full of morons, roaches, crazy bitches, disgusting cafeteria food, and a not-quite-sane principal?

That very same school with a mysterious forcefield around it, trapping students and teachers alike inside, of course!

And just when it looks like it can't get any worse, it does: the power goes out. Abnormally-large bugs start showing up everywhere. Poisonous red fungi grow up all around the school, plaguing anyone who manages to figure out a way around the forcefield and leave the building. And whoever's behind it all seems to be seeking a powerful item--the legendary Num Coin--that is said to be buried somewhere deep beneath the school's foundations...

FYS:AHS was canceled... but now it's back in development. I've finally finished redoing the walkabout and portrait sprites, as well as most of the attacks (minus those that can't be learned until later in the game, and some used only by later enemies.) Currently the game is in a sorta-playable early demo stage--the intro scene is complete, and you can explore most of the school (though not all of the first-floor classrooms are done yet) and go through the storyline all the way past the first boss and to the end of the power outage.

Originally I had planned to release the first demo when the power outage was over, but... that would end up being a very short demo if you don't do much exploring and just zoom right ahead to the storyline-related events. Plus, I still need to make *A LOT* more classroom maps (most of which open up after the power outage ends) first, since I don't want to come out with a demo where there's tons of doors that don't go anywhere. This means that the first demo will probably go all the way through the second major event of the game (where Adam joins temporarily, and later you get Damuru-J as a permanent party member.)

I don't know how long it will take for me to finish up to that point, since right now I'm sort of stuck on making all the classrooms and such. Currently there's only about half an hour of playtime to the game, which seems a bit short even for a demo (and it'd be even shorter if you skip ahead to the storyline-related stuff without exploring, as I mentioned above... maybe only 12-15 minutes to get to the end of what's there so far)... so it may take a while before it's in a "releaseable" state.
