Bob the Hamster (talk) 08:01, 25 April 2017 (PDT): I would argue that anything related to slices is pretty advanced scripting, and does not belong in a quick start. I was under the impression this was supposed to be a quick-start about the basics of putting together a simple game.

Sword (talk) 21:45, 25 April 2017 (PDT) They're just there for now. Sooner or later there will be a simple guide to plotscripting, and a guide to slices. I just added it here for convenience sake. I really think having a "quick-start" format for such things would be much more useful than a pile of documentation, and it is intended to be a simple extension to the end of the quick-start for relatively simple scripts. Slices represent a significant capability of the engine and can be covered fairly easily. I hope to fill out the quick-start guide, first with engine stuff, and cover script/slice stuff at the end. I do not intend to write full documentation for slice usage (I'll leave that to you guys) but I do intend to cover them briefly so that new users can see what the engine is capable of and practice with simple (very!) exercises. My other thoughts on this matter are that even the most simple game would benefit tremendously from a line or 2 of code. To this end, I would like to cover plotscript commands with their own tutorial pages.

Perhaps quick-start is the wrong place to put it entirely, but I conceive of it as being a series of exercises designed for newcomers, and designed so as to be immediately accessible with hand-holding and step by step guidance.

They could well go in their own section. I am still deliberating as to the writing of many things, pages, ideas and am open to suggestions! Yet I do not feel they should be very far from the quick-start page either.

NOTES ON SCREENSHOTS: Please don't attach whole screenshots at huge resolutions! That's wasteful! If possible, try to crop the relevant part of the image instead, and if you need more than 1 screenshot to show what you are talking about, consider merging them horizontally or vertically in a single image. It's okay to have screenshots of the whole screen I guess, but be mindful of using an appropriate resolution, and please don't let it break the main body of text! That looks really bad! Instead, try to align them on the right side of the page. Same for "infoboxes" please. (Unless you guys have other plans). If needed, we could have alternative hi-res screenshots, but no one should need that and it seems to be a waste of bandwidth when most web browsers are capable of zooming in on a page.

Bob the Hamster (talk) 11:05, 26 April 2017 (PDT): Okay, that sounds fine to me. Sounds like you have a good plan :)

Sword (talk) 11:07, 26 April 2017 (PDT) Ta Bobbo. It's good to be trusted, I'll try not to let you down!
