Hati's Bizarre Adventure is one of the most appreciated games in the OHRRPGCE community itself. It was made by Charbile and released in 2019.
Plot[edit]
Hati, a blue-haired dog girl, was asked by her mother to visit Vulpes Flower Shop (a place owned by a fox in a red dress). To get rid of the work, Hati summons the little mouse fairy Natalie in a circle of toothpaste. But instead, Natalie cheers her up to go on an adventure together. At Vulpes Flower Shop (where no customers actually buy flowers) she meets her dog friend Mi'la, surprisingly dressed like a maid as part of her exercises... anyways, after a short while, the whole group, Hati, Mi'la and Natalie quickly find themselves in maid outfits to learn important lessons about life while doing housework. And by accident, the villain Gahn, is set free in the cellar to do evil things, if the maids don't stop her. That makes the trio explore the deep cellar.
Technical[edit]
As one of the few OHRRPCE games, Hati's Bizarre Adventure has its own turn based battle system, using dices to do calculations with random numbers, like in a tabletop RPG, all written in plotscripts. Furthermore, a lot of moving slices were used to do the animations. Different sized walkabout sprites were also used, a fairly new engine feature then. The text box animations are custom made with plotscripts. So it's a game that really built a lot on top of the standard OHR possibilities.
Misc[edit]
The main characters appeared in other OHRRPGCE games, too. Hati was already in Vikings of Midgard, Mi'la in Sword of Jade and Natalie is a character from the universes of Nathan Karr. There are plenty more cameos from other OHR games, too.
In the game, a show is staged, where the offical results of the Ridiculous Games Contest 2019 are annouced.
Reception[edit]
Being entered very late into the competition, Charbile uploaded the game in an unfinished state, which gave him a third place in the Ridicoulus Games Contest. But everything was fixed some months later. The complete game was rated very high for the game mechanics, the graphics, the 8-bit music, the crazy storyline with no taboos and the many community references. In the Top 30 voting of 2019, Hati's Bizarre Adventure was ranked on top of the list in first place.
