Virtuous Sword

Yup, it's me. Hi.

I want to help out around here, and hopefully, I won't get in your way or anything. Let's all be friends, okay? Cool.

temporarily listing suggestions here before moving them to their own page one day

JUMPING TO ZONE NUMBER Typing numbers does not replace the current number, but appends to it.

HEROES - "Heroes use walk in place animation" can please be moved to heroes menu? If it could be set individually for heroes (for animated heroes that travel be flying etc.,) and have plotscript commands to set or manage this, that would be good, I think. It's not in an obvious place. How will it work with the new animation editor? That's just for battles, right? Or will it be integrated to animate slices, say, in the slice editor?

ITEMS - Is there a command to return the number of free(unused) inventory slots? - Could we set a limit to the maximum number of stacks of an item, say, if you want to restrict players to just 1 stack?

OTHER - There are also some places in the editor where "delete" or "DEL" work, but not both. - As a side note, it would be nice to be able to copy/paste in a field where typing can be done, as a universal thing. - npc flags (names separated by a comma?) - improvements to sprite editor. Layers. - extra data fields for items, heroes, attacks, enemies, formations and...? - more extra data fields. extensible.

SLICE EDITOR REQUESTS

- shortcut keys for the slice editor (position, lookup, using [/] or </> - slice masks from visible

Yet more requests. When selecting a slice type in the editor, could we type in the name of a slice to jump to it, or have shortcut keys to jump to a slice type? If you go for a letter key for each slice type, you might go with:

'C'ontainer 'G'rid 'R'ectangle 'E'llipse 'S'elect

S'p'rite S'c'roll Pa'n'el Te'x't

Similarly, for selecting a sprite type in the editor, some kind of shortcut would be nice.

'H'ero 'S'mall Enemy 'M'edium Enemy 'L'arge Enemy 'W'alkabout Weapo'n' 'A'ttack 'B'ox Edge 'P'ortrait Back'd'rop

    1. for those that start with the same letter, you could make it so that pressing the letter cycles through them. Perhaps on top of their unique hotkeys.

    1. side note, I think many of the names are a handful I would love to see universal plotscript commands that can use these hotkeys, like

"Load sprite (H, 14..." etc. or perhaps "Create Slice" where the first argument is the slice type. You could have these as optional variations of the arguments full name, so that inexperienced/new users could still use them until they learn the shortcuts. I know this is a bit of a big thing, but so is Dwarf Fortress, and Vim.
