You mentioned that the login box isn't showing up for you, FnrrfYgmSchnish? Try this link to it: Special:UserLogin and once you are logged in go to "my preferences" and then to the "appearance" tab. See if you are using something other than "monobook" for the skin. That is the default, and it is the only one I ever test. Bob the Hamster 12:10, 18 November 2010 (PST)

I'm pretty sure I've never changed the skin to anything else; I didn't even know it was possible until you mentioned it, actually. It just started happening a few days ago (and it's not just the login box; any "box" type thing on any page shows up as a blank area, too. For example, on the Okédoké! page the entire box on the right with the screenshots and info is invisible to me.) This only happens on my computer at home, though--I'm logged in right now on a school computer, where it works... which makes me think it's probably not a problem with my account setting, but a problem with my computer at home. The really weird thing is, no other wiki has this problem; on Wikipedia and my own wiki, boxes still show up without any problems. It's just this one that has disappearing boxes, for some odd reason. Just checked, and going to Special:UserLogin doesn't seem to work any differently than just clicking the login/create account link in the upper-right corner; the login box is still invisible on my computer at home.
What web browser are you using? Have you tried clearing its cache? And do you have anything like adblockplus installed? I could imagine an ad blocker with a broken rule making boxes disappear. Bob the Hamster 14:40, 19 November 2010 (PST)
Mostly using AOL 9.0, but I also tried it in Internet Explorer version 6, which didn't work either. (Yeah, I'm using old browsers, but I'm also on dial-up so downloading a newer one is pretty much impossible.) I don't have any extra add-ons installed at all; there is a popup blocker built into AOL, but I have it set to allow popups for this site, so it shouldn't be involved at all. I'll try clearing the cache and see if that helps any. (EDIT: Nope, no change at all.)
Wow! Those are truly ancient browsers! I update the wiki nightly, and I wouldn't be surprised if Mediawiki might have recently changed something that broke compat with those old browsers, and nobody noticed because so few people still use them. Can you download another browser somewhere else and save it on a usb thumb drive and bring it home? --Bob the Hamster 09:16, 21 November 2010 (PST)
I'm actually going to have access to a faster internet connection later today, so I'll try that. Not sure how big of a download web browsers tend to be, but I'll have several hours, so... should be more than enough time.
