Hróðvitnir is Norse for "fame-wolf", another name for Fenrir or Fenrisúlfr, a giant wolf in Norse mythology that is a son of Loki and is bound with rope by the gods because he is foretold to kill the god Odin during Ragnarök. Fenrisulf and his daughter Hati Hróðvitnisson appear as major characters in the OHRRPGCE's official example game Vikings of Midgard, which was finally completed in late 2020 in the leadup to the hróðvitnir release. This release is named in honour of Vikings of Midgard and its author Fenrir-Lunaris. (Trivia: it was originally planned to name a release yggdrasil on the completion of Vikings of Midgard).
Major new features in hróðvitnir are global NPCs, a switch to SDL 2-based gfx_sdl2 graphics backend, rewritten gamepad support, and full 64-bit support for Macs (macOS 10.15+).
