Talk:How do I use plotscripts to make an NPC disappear permanently?

Bob the Hamster: Wow this article is WAY more complicated than it needs to be. An explanation of "appear if tag" should not even mention plotscripting. (Not that the plotscripting stuff is all bad, but it should be split out into a separate article)

BisSenchi: So the examples I've put would be wrong... Could you be more precise? Are other wrong things left? I'm afraid that plotscripting should be mentionned because plotscripting is needed to keep the tag turned on as long as we need.

S'orlok Reaves's discussion: I think the general confusion arises because we have two interpretations as to the "correct" usage of appear_if. The general usage is simple and covered in the NPC_TAG tutorial; show a message box and have it set a tag on; then, a certain NPC won't appear again. The complex usage is to use tags to "delete" npcs permenantly in plotscripts.

S'orlok Reaves's conclusion: This article might be misnamed. Perhaps: "How do I use plotscripts to make an NPC disappear permenantly" classifies it more accurately.

BisSenchi: Yes after reflexion, I also think that theis article should be renamed.

BisSenchi: Here it is. The article "How do I use correctly the npc bitset "appear if tag..."? has been renamed. Now I need to cancel things that are already covered in the NPC_TAG tutorial. I'll do that when I have some free time.

The Mad Cacti: To move a page, use the move button instead of copy pasting the page contents to a new page. That way, the page history is kept, and the talk page is moved too. (I think all logged in users have the ability to move pages?)

BisSenchi: Sorry about that. I didn't noticed there was a move button right just near the edit button. Anyway Have you already deleted the page I've created and moved the old one? Now that I know where the move button is, I can do things the right way. Sorry once more about not moving the page "How do I use correctly the npc bitset "appear if tag..."
